Me pregunto por qué WordPress no envía un correo de confirmación cada vez que el usuario cambia su dirección de correo electrónico.

¿Cómo sabemos que la dirección de correo electrónico no es falsa o está mal escrita?

1. el usuario cambia su correo
2. Enviamos un correo electrónico de confirmación.
3. Si el usuario confirma ese correo electrónico en X días haciendo clic en el enlace de confirmación, entonces el correo electrónico debe cambiarse. De lo contrario, deberíamos usar el correo electrónico existente.

Al igual que SickHippie publicó, esta funcionalidad es nativa de WordPress, pero solo para una configuración multisitio, así que aquí están las dos funciones que necesita para que esto funcione en una configuración de sitio único, que en su mayoría son código uno por uno desde el núcleo /wp-admin/user-edit.php file

Esta es una extraña 'característica'. La función está realmente disponible dentro de WordPress (WordPress.com lo tiene habilitado para su servicio de blog administrado), pero está restringido a múltiples sitios. Si observa /wp-admin/includes/ms.php, encontrará la función que maneja esto: la línea 239 send_confirmation_on_profile_email().

Presumiblemente, podría mover esta función a sus functions.php o a un complemento para obtener esta funcionalidad, posiblemente con un poco de ajustes para que funcione correctamente. No responde el "por qué", pero tampoco lo hace el ticket de trámite sobre este tema aquí .

ETA: mirando más allá, hay algunas otras funciones que puede necesitar duplicar también, new_user_email_admin_notice()y update_option_new_admin_email()saltar según sea potencialmente necesario.

He modificado el código Giri para que funcione en mi wordpress (versión 4.8.1+)

antes de:

después:

La coma necesita reemplazar el punto.

También:
