El repositorio de Ubuntu no tiene un archivo de lanzamiento

Esto es similar al repositorio de Xenial no tiene un archivo de lanzamiento , pero la solución allí no funciona para mí.

Cuando se ejecuta sudo apt-get updateen una instalación de Ubuntu 16.04 de hace unos días, devuelve los siguientes mensajes de error:

Lo he intentado sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*y /etc/apt/sources/listya tengo la línea 52 comentada, y la línea 54 no existe. (Ambas soluciones que he encontrado en este y otros foros).

La tercera línea desde abajo en tu /etc/apt/sources.listparece estar equivocada:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com xenial universe

Creo que esa línea es la que está causando el error, por lo que te sugiero que la elimines.

Editar:

Después de hacerlo, puede ser necesario limpiar la caché del paquete, lo que puede hacer ejecutando:

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*

y entonces:

sudo apt update

Habiendo usado nano para editar y eliminar la línea indicada, sudo apt-get updateahora regresa E: The package cache file is corrupted.

En mi caso, el problema fue realmente tonto. No tenía acceso a la red fuera de mi servidor. Me llevó bastante tiempo darme cuenta de que ese era mi problema ;-)

Sinceramente, "no tiene un archivo de lanzamiento" no es el mensaje que debe transmitirse. saca una conclusión en lugar de declarar un hecho. "no se puede descargar el archivo de lanzamiento" sería preciso. no es malo, alguien más es malo. Gracias por publicar tu duh momento. ;)
