Instalación del reproductor multimedia VLC en Ubuntu 14.04

He buscado muchas opciones en Internet para instalar el reproductor multimedia VLC en Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr), pero nada funciona para mí.

¿Como puedo solucionar este problema?

A partir del 23/09/2015, la última versión de VLC para Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) proporcionada por este repositorio es 2.2.1 .

Abra una terminal y ejecute (para 14.04):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-plugin-*

Para instalar el reproductor multimedia VLC en Ubuntu, puede intentar abrir su terminal ( Ctrl+ Alt+ T) y escribir:

sudo apt-get install vlc

Si hay errores, puede pegar la salida para que las personas puedan ayudarlo.

Puede intentar deshabilitar IPv6 en su caja. A veces puede ser un problema. Para deshabilitar IPv6, agregue lo siguiente a /etc/sysctl.conf :

net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6 = 1

Después de eso, abra su terminal ( Ctrl+ Alt+ T) y escriba:

sudo sysctl -p && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc

Hola, he intentado instalar desde ubuntu softawre center pero todavía no puedo instalar VLC Player. Recibo un error como Error al recuperar archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/l/lame/… Tamaño no coincidente
