Ese error se cerró el 8 de agosto de 2012, por lo que es posible que solo necesite la información relacionada con esta pregunta en caso de que vuelva a aparecer. Si eso sucede, presente otro informe de error en Launchpad.

Ejecuté una instalación limpia en Ubuntu 12.04 y hasta ahora todo ha funcionado bien. Encomio especialmente al equipo de Ubuntu por esta versión.

Solo noté que el tamaño de la actualización del repositorio ahora es de aproximadamente 13 MB. Normalmente, es aproximadamente de este tamaño la primera vez que se ejecuta apt-get updatedespués de una instalación limpia y luego ~ 23kb - 1300kb para actualizaciones posteriores.

Creo que hay un par de cosas que vale la pena señalar aquí.

Mirando los mismos archivos us.archive.ubuntu.com o archive.ubuntu.com, puede ver que los archivos Package.bz2 de distribución principal y universal se marcan como modificados dos veces por hora, a pesar de que contienen el mismo contenido. Estos repositorios están realmente congelados. Como contienen entradas para cada paquete en main y universe, esto hace que la descarga promedio sea muy grande. Esto hace que el servidor envíe apt-get updateun archivo de paquete enorme de nuevo a pesar de que nada ha cambiado realmente. El archivo del paquete contiene el número de versión y la descripción de la versión más actual de cada paquete en el repositorio. Los archivos de lanzamiento reales contienen la fecha y la hora del último cambio real.

  1. Puede tener sentido ejecutar la actualización con menos frecuencia o, de manera equivalente, elegir un repositorio que se actualice con menos frecuencia que los principales.

  2. Muchos incluyen los repositorios "fuente" en su lista de fuentes de software. Esto es útil para hacer apt-get source packagename , pero puede ser algo anticuado.

    A menos que obtenga la fuente todos los días, puede considerar eliminar la configuración de la fuente, habilitarla nuevamente y realizar una actualización solo cuando desee descargar alguna fuente. La fuente de varios paquetes siempre está cambiando, por lo que el índice que se descargará siempre cambia también.

    También puede considerar usar Ubuntu Distributed Development para paquetes más pequeños, usando bazaar. En otras palabras:

    bzr branch lp: ubuntu / sourcename

    Esto descarga la fuente del paquete y su historial, en forma comprimida. Este historial para paquetes más grandes puede tener muchos megabytes, por lo que es posible que desee restringir esta estrategia a paquetes pequeños. ¡Intenté cambiarme a un espejo en lugar de usarlo us.archive.ubuntu.comy ha solucionado el problema! Con el servidor Ubuntu habitual, descubrí que solo comprobando media hora más tarde obtendría otro ~ 13MB de recuperación apt-get update; sin embargo, con el espejo, se ha reducido a <1 MB.

Básicamente lo que hice fue abrir /etc/apt/sources.listy reemplazar:

deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise main restricted universe multiverse

con

deb http://us-west-1.ec2.archive.ubuntu.com.s3.amazonaws.com/ubuntu precise main restricted universe multiverse

No sé si hay algo especial en los espejos de Amazon S3, pero puede ubicar un espejo cerca de usted y ver si eso ayuda. La primera búsqueda fue grande (~ 16 MB) pero las siguientes fueron <1 MB.

Una solución alternativa para actualizar solo el archivo de índice interesado:

La mayoría de las veces, actualizamos la lista de paquetes para agregar un PPA. así que esta es una solución para eso

  1. Cree un archivo como /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99mysettingsy
    ponga esta línea en el archivo. Apt::Get::List-Cleanup 'false';.

    Cómo ? : Escribe esto en una terminal sudo gedit /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99mysettings.

    Explicación: Hace que apt-getno se eliminen los archivos de índice que ya están descargados.

  2. Deshabilite los repositorios que no desea actualizar ahora. Puede ir aquí para ver cómo puede deshabilitar los repositorios .

  3. Luego ejecute el apt-get updatecomando en una terminal. espera hasta que termine

  4. Finalmente, vuelva a habilitar todos los repositorios que haya deshabilitado hace unos minutos. Ahora ha actualizado el índice PPA con todos los índices anteriores.

Intente ir a su administrador de actualizaciones y elimine algunos ppa. Algunos ppa como spotify no son realmente importantes porque funciona como debería y ya está instalado en mi computadora portátil, así que no necesito ese ppa (solo un ejemplo).
