MySQL 5.5 se inicia y luego se detiene instantáneamente

MySQL 5.5 en Ubuntu 10.10 solía funcionar bien hasta ayer, pero hoy, cuando inicio MySQL usando mysqld_safecomo usuario root, se muestra

y luego muestra pid ended

No ejecuté ninguna actualización recientemente, pero utilicé el administrador de MySQL para conectarme a una base de datos remota, pero el administrador de MySQL se instaló hace un mes.

Estoy copiando esta publicación de superusuario , básicamente soluciona su problema.

Todo funcionó perfectamente, excepto uno de los pasos finales, el lanzamiento de mysql:

mysqld --skip-grant-tables --user=mysql

Me estaba dando el siguiente mensaje y luego cerrando:

[ERROR] Can't find messagefile '/usr/share/errmsg.sys'

Después de buscar en Google , encontré la solución para agregar la siguiente bandera :

--lc-messages-dir="/usr/local/mysql/share/english/"

Para iniciarlo y hacer que realmente funcione, utilicé el siguiente comando:

 mysqld --skip-grant-tables --user=mysql --lc-messages-dir="/usr/local/mysql/share/english/"

MySQL 5.5 tiene algunas nuevas características excelentes que me resolvieron un problema de particionamiento; particionamiento a través de un varchar.

Mejor no copie archivos al directorio de reserva. En su lugar, especifique el parámetro en la línea de comando o agregue lo siguiente a my.ini/ my.cnf:

[mysqld]
lc_messages_dir = /usr/local/mysql/share

Tuve exactamente el mismo problema en Debian 7.0 - Wheezy.

Al iniciar MySql, el sistema arrojaba el error:

[ERROR] Can't find messagefile '/usr/share/mysql/english/errmsg.sys'

Investigué un poco sobre la base de esta publicación y descubrí que /usr/share/mysql/english/errmsg.sysfaltaba el archivo .

Para mí fue suficiente instalar:

apt-get install --reinstall mysql-server-core-5.5

MySQL no está configurando su idioma de mensaje de error en inglés automáticamente. Todavía tengo que entender por qué sucede esto, pero la solución es pasar --lc-messages=english(anteriormente --language) en la línea de comando o agregar language=englishal archivo de configuración.

El archivo especificado en el mensaje de error no debería existir: MySQL no debería estar buscando allí. Si copia un archivo de configuración regional en esa ubicación, no está solucionando el problema real; solo estás pidiendo problemas en el futuro.
