He estado tratando de agregar un bloque al pie de página, pero hasta ahora sigue volviendo Invalid block type: [Namespace]\[Module]\Block\Timeline

Significa que tu clase no se puede cargar. ¿Tienes tu módulo registrado en compositor? ¿Se puede agregar composer.json.

Definí un useen la clase de bloque antes de la definición de clase. En este uso, olvidé un encabezado \que causa un error. Pero como ese error se detecta y se suprime Magento\Framework\View\Layout\Generator\Block::getBlockInstance, arroja un error completamente no relacionado.

En resumen: causar un error de PHP por encima de la classdefinición siempre dará como resultado el Invalid block type:error

También tuve un problema similar ahora: olvidé declarar algunas declaraciones de "uso" para algunas clases. El "tipo de bloque no válido" informado no tenía nada que ver con el problema real. Me llevó mucho tiempo resolverlo.

Para mí, se solucionó cuando cambié el nombre del archivo por el mismo nombre de clase y llamada XML. Me gusta esto:

Si está utilizando Composer para incluir su módulo, aquí hay otra posible razón para ese error:

Podría tener una definición PSR-4 incorrecta en su composer.json. Normalmente, debería verse así:

    "psr-4": {
        "Namespace\\Module\\": ""
    }
}

Sin embargo, si el nombre de su módulo no es Module, entonces su autocarga se interrumpe y no se encontrará ninguna clase. En este caso, debe corregir el nombre del módulo y composer require namespace/modulevolver a ejecutarlo para actualizar la definición en composer.locky volver a generar sus archivos de carga automática.
