¿Cómo crear una entidad EAV?

Esta es una pregunta que aparece mucho en la web. Hay algunos buenos artículos de blog que explican cómo hacerlo, pero ninguno de ellos me satisface.
Entonces decidí responder una pregunta y explicar cómo lo hago ... y parece funcionar.

Hay mucho código aquí. Para leer correctamente, clasifique las respuestas por 'más antiguo'.

Parte 1

Para el propósito de esta demostración, voy a crear un módulo, nombremos Easylife_Newsque contiene una entidad llamada Article.
El módulo viene con un código CRUD completo para el backend, que incluye la sección para administrar atributos, y una lista simple de páginas frontales y una página de visualización para cada artículo. También anuncia un elemento de menú en el menú superior a la lista de artículos.
También contiene reescrituras de URL, RSS feed y migas de pan para frontend. Esta entidad tendrá 4 atributos: Title, Short Description, Description, Publish Dateademás de los sistemas ( created_at, updated_at, status, in_rss, url_key).
